LAST CHANCE: Vendors Spots Open at Oceanport Fall Festival

Limited spaces still available at indoor/outdoor event on Oct. 20.

Would you like cream and sugar with that Fall Festival?

Booskerdoo Coffee of Monmouth Beach will be among the vendors at the Oceanport PTO's Fall Festival on Oct. 20, serving up their freshly roasted brew to all the moms and dads who need a kick for the sack races that day.

The family-friendly (and fully caffeinated) event will take place at Maple Place from noon to 4 p.m. with a vendor showcase and load of family-friendly games. PTO President Michelle LaValle said there are still openings for vendors who want to sell their wares.

Organizers say so far they have 15 of the 30 vendors they want lined up for the event, including a farmers market, pre-made soups and cookies by Renee Foggia, Yankee Girl Art and Photography, pocketbook maker Arlene Hanlin, jewlery vendors Lia Sophia, Heidi's Treasures and Designs By Liz, Pampered Chef, Scentsy and Holly Jolly jams and jellies.

LaValle told Patch that her festival committee is deliberately setting the price of vendor tables low — $30 for the day, compared to standard fees of $75 to $100 — to attract more sellers. Each table is six-feet long and additional tables can be rented.

This is the first year for the Fall Festival, which will replace the annual holiday fest held at Maple Place School. Organizers are hoping to take advantage of the crisp fall weather to use the fields of Maple Place, as well as the inside of the school, for family games, pumpkin picking, a gift auction and shopping.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to support cultural arts programs and teacher wish lists at Maple Place and Wolf Hill schools.
