Little Silver, Oceanport Candidates File for Primaries

Two council seats are up for grabs in both municipalities.

Candidates running in the June 4 primary elections had to file petitions Monday, April 1.

In Oceanport, two three-year Borough Council seats will be on the ballot. Council President Joseph Irace and Robert Lynch are running unopposed on the Republican ticket. Councilman John Ibex is running alone on the Democratic ticket.

In Little Silver, two three-year Borough Council seats are up this year. Republican Council President Stuart Van Winkle and Councilman Don Galante are running unopposed on the Republican ticket. No Democrats filed for the primary.

Property values are rising. Excellent school system and safe streets. Both of them have my vote. Now, if we can just lower our property taxes a little bit.

Lowering property taxes A LITTLE BIT ?? That's a real joke !!! You guys have been all talk but no action. Lowering taxes has been discussed for YEARS and nothing ! Keep in mind that we just had Superstorm Sandy. My bet is that property tax will keep going up. Here's the motto: What goes up will never come down with property tax here !
