Sidewalk Sale Returns to Little Silver

The annual sale kicks off on Thursday with a bone marrow donor drive

Sidewalk sales evoke a spirit of community, a spirit of togetherness. This weekend that feeling will be alive and well in Little Silver as merchants move their stores to the sidewalks for the annual sidewalk sale which begins today, Thursday, July 21.

The town wide sale, sponsored by the Little Silver Business Association, continues Friday and Saturday, and all local businesses are encouraged to join.  The Little Silver Business Association has a mission “to unite our fellow businesses in Little Silver and augment our investment in the community through business growth and volunteerism.” Their community wide garage and sidewalk sale allows for multiple members of the community to bond.

The sidewalk sale is a great time to get out, interact with local business owners and help support local, community businesses.  It is also a great time for discounts, as stores will be celebrating with super deals and discounts.

On Thursday, businesses will take their merchandise to the streets in hopes of boosting revenue and community spirit.  Thursday will also give the community a chance to “pay it forward,” as Skin and Bones Spa on Church Street sponsors a bone marrow donor drive.

The donor drive couldn’t be simpler; just take a short break from shopping the sales and have your cheek swiped to find out if you are able to help someone suffering from Leukemia.  It takes a mere five minutes of your time and could potentially help save someone’s life. The drive is being held in memory of Bob Brummer, a resident of Little Silver and owner of , Oceanport, who passed away from Leukemia in May.
