Property Tax Assessment Deadlines Change for Monmouth County

Tax appeals must be filed by January 15 rather than April 1.

Changes that will impact all Monmouth County property owners are soon approaching, according to the National Law Review.

Monmouth County will be the first in the state to implement the Assessment Demonstration Program, the National Law Review reported. The program will begin in 2013 but into effect for the 2014 tax year.

The program changes filing deadlines for the property tax assessment and appeal process in New Jersey, the National Law Review said. The purpose of the program is to achieve a more cost-effective and accurate property tax administration process while increasing the number of assessment disputes settled prior to filing the final assessment list with the County Board of Taxation.
