The Little Silver resident will host a Firearm Safety Seminar for kids ages 12 to 18

By Christopher Sheldon

A Little Silver Life Scout from Troop 126 is working on his Eagle Scout project and in the process, will be helping out area youths.

Ralston Hough is planning, publicizing, managing, and running a Firearm Safety Seminar for kids ages 12 to 18.

The seminar will be held at the Little Silver Women's Club at 111 Church St. on Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Hough said the seminar is supported by the Little Silver Police and the NRA.

Hough added that the seminar will "not encourage or discourage gun ownership or use," but will focus "on the reality of guns in the world and kids' safety in that world."

He said parents who are interested in attending and bringing their children can call him at 732-567-6053 (cell) or 732-224-0636 (home) if they have questions.
