ReplySpooner, the 2 councilmen who attended the presentation in Lacey never mentioned any other officials being there, so I think it was just the 2 of them from the Borough, along with officials from some other towns.

ReplyThose questions were focal points of Tuesday night's lively discussion which I expect will surface again, to one extent or another, at next meeting. Dasti held the meeting and invited elected officials because the Borough and some other towns had expressed a need for help in this realm, apparently. But any Borough governing body member who finds names of law firms who appear to have the required expertise is free to bring those names to the attention of full council and then discuss them. If residents have questions or concerns, now is the time to address them via email/letters to elected officials or by speaking up at the next regular meeting on June 18.

ReplyYes, Jerry Dasti is Borough Attorney, as story reports. Yes, he did invite the mayor and all council members to attend and I will add that to story. The mayor had intended to go, but had to ultimately decline because he had to attend another meeting. Other members of council did not go, possibly because it was during business hours and they were probably working, but I didn't get specific reasons from each person who did not attend.

ReplyOn Tuesday, the municipal business administrator emailed me that they were meeting that day with Aqua-Serve about plans to clean up and improve the beach.

ReplyI had emailed questions about that very issue to the town since they own that beach, but never heard back. I'll try contacting them again. (And I was just there yesterday, so I also realize it's not any better.)

ReplyThis story http://patch.com/A-3Gw7 has info. about starting salaries, just over $36K, a far cry from $75K. Also, police are continuing to investigate these break-ins.

ReplyWe ran the original story about her being reported missing on multiple Patch sites because when young people go missing, they could be anywhere and sometimes, when the weather is getting a bit warmer, they head towards the Shore. I just looked to see if media in the area where she was found did a more updated story, and found this updated 6 hours ago. Looks like she ran away, although the media outlet could not get definitive confirmation of that. http://m.phillyburbs.com/news/local/breaking-missing-girl-found-safe/article_88289b0e-5b98-5f5b-b1d6-848e2362a6f9.html?mode=jqm

Marie, I was up there today and Aqua Serve was really busy using machinery to grade beach, as well as shoveling and sweeping by hand and getting ready to install fencing on the beach. I'm working on a story right now that will post early tomorrow morning at top of site (look for headline about Christie coming to Point Beach tomorrow). Thanks for reading!
