As the ballots pour in from Sandy-ravaged New Jersey, Robert Menendez has emerged victorious in reclaiming his U.S. Senate seat against Republican challenger Joe Kyrillos. With just over half of polling districts reporting, state Republicans have conceded victory to Menendez. The U.S. senator leads 58 percent to 40 percent as of 10:30 p.m., according to CBS News. New Jersey political insiders gave their candidates the edge on the final presidential debate. However, most believe President Barack Obama will be the consensus winner over Mitt Romney among national media outlets. With more than 60 people in one room watching a presidential debate on foreign policy, there was bound to be strong opinions and disagreement. Some people were even angry with themselves. The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Senate hosted a viewing party for the third and final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney Monday night, Oct. 22. The subject was foreign policy, but the candidates debated a little bit of everything. The 62 students and community members who gathered walked away with strong opinions, and in some cases, those opinions were different than when they walked into the Campus Center Event Room. According to a Patch flash poll immediately following Wednesday night's presidential debate in Denver, Colo., 63 percent of both Democratic and Republican respondents believed Romney was victorious. In a speech that was both biographical and also touched upon Republicans' vision for the country, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie Tuesday was in the limelight Tuesday as he delivered a nationally televised keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. And state delegates in the St. Pete Times Forum who listened to his speech said the governor struck just the right tone in making his case for presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Patch has created an interactive database so you can see how much your neighbors are donating to the presidential campaign—and to which candidate they’re writing their checks. We’ve included communities across New Jersey, so if you want to see what the campaign contributions in nearby towns are like, go right ahead. The information in the database was downloaded from the Federal Election Commission’s website. The data is based on quarterly reports, and is current through July. The data will be updated in mid-October.
