YOGAtta Go to Coba Yoga

This is great news for brand new yoga studio owner and teacher Lili Avery, whose new studio in Little Silver, Coba Yoga, beholds the serene Shrewsbury River as its backdrop.  “I want this to be a place of refuge,” Avery says, smiling. “This is a place to raise your consciousness.” Born in Mexico City, Lili Avery is excited about seeing her passionate vision come to life. Avery discovered yoga for the time in 1996 while living and studying in New York City. She was 19 when she decided to try her first Bikram Yoga class.  The heat, intensity and …

Shh... Leave Your Shoes at the Door!

But bring your giggles and laughter... Mrs. Kathryn Barnett brought yoga to kids ages 5-8 at the library in Oceanport.

Yoga is a technique that focuses on mind, body and spirit. Mrs. Kathryn Barnett has owned a dance studio in Red Bank for 27 years and brought the practice of yoga to Oceanport last week.  Her little yogis and yoginis ages 5-8 spent 45 minutes learning some of the basics of yoga.  Kathryn has been studying yoga for 8 years and enjoys it herself. She was approached by the director at the Red Bank Charter School about teaching a class for students.  Her studio in Sea Bright, Brahma just happened to be presenting a program called "Radiant Child" and Kathryn participated in it. This summer her studio in Red Bank will offer a yoga program on Thursday mornings, please check her web site for details.  www.barnettdanceschool.com
