Last Chance: Deadline Approaching for Little Silver Spring Rec Sports

Don't get stuck with the $50 late fee after Feb. 7.

The deadline to sign up for Little Siver Recreation spring sports is fast approaching. Residents interested in signing their K-8 child up for baseball, softball or lacross have until Feb. 7 before a $50 late fee is imposed. Little Silver Recreation is scheduling free indoor baseball, softball and lacrosse clinics in March at Point Road School Gym to prepare players for the Spring season. There will be coaches only sessions such as “Organizing An Effective And Fun Baseball/Softball Practice” as well as kids’ clinics in hitting, pitching and fielding basics for both baseball and softball. Lacrosse sessions will concentrate on catching, passing, cradling, …

Longballs for Lucas

The Little Silver One Pitch Softball Tournament benefited the Viscomi Family.

Each Fall, the town of Little Silver comes together to benefit one of their own. Under beautiful skies on Saturday, Oct. 8, the Little Silver One Pitch Softball Tournament took place at Markham Place field. Teams from Little Silver, Shrewsbury and Rumson competed in the annual event to raise money for the Viscomi Family. Recent changes to the Viscomi's health insurance have made it difficult for the family to afford the numerous medications and medical supplies needed for Lucas. The Little Silver Family Pharmacy provides Viscomi's prescriptions and they are directly accepting checks to go toward the Lucas Viscomi account.

Donations being accepted now for Oct. 8 men's softball tournament to benefit sick Little Silver boy.

Viscomi's health insurance company recently imposed changes which drastically reduce his health coverage, making it difficult for his family to afford the 20 different medications and medical supplies he needs, said Little Silver Recreation Director …
