On Tonight's Menu: Ama Ristorante

The popular Atlantic Highlands restaurant has a new Sea Bright home, logo and menu

It’s time for a taste of Tuscany by the sea. Ama Ristorante at Driftwood, Sea Bright, is opening its Ocean Avenue doors at 5 p.m. Friday, starting a tradition of serving fine Italian cuisine in a new oceanfront setting at the cabana club. Ama, which means love in Latin, is a also a small town in Tuscany — apt reflections of the restaurant’s regional motif and the chef Pat Trama’s passion for the Tuscan food and wines. For the new location, Trama — who has collaborated on the venture with the Driftwood owners and longtime local builders, the Stavola family — has carefully chosen a wine list to perfectly complement the menu. AMA Restaurant Moving to Driftwood This Summer

The popular Italian restaurant closed its doors in Atlantic Highlands and will reopen at the Sea Bright beach club.

When AMA Ristorante Tuscana reopens later this summer, the restaurant will not only have a slightly new name but vastly different surroundings than its former cozy Atlantic Highlands location where for three years it fed those lucky enough to land a table. The restaurant, which features authentic Tuscan fare, will move to the Driftwood Cabana Club in Sea Bright in late summer and be surrounded by the beach and the river, according to a release. A slight name change will reflect the change and the restaurant will be known as AMA at the Driftwood but will continue to feature dishes from its popular menu prepared by Chef Pat Trama, who worked under reknowned restauranteurs Charlie Palmer of Brooklyn's River Cafe and Drew Nieporent of Nobu …
