Erin E. Harmon was jailed on a possession of stolen property charge.
An Oceanport woman was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property following an arrest Saturday, police said. Erin E. Harmon, 27, was arrested and charged after she tried to pawn a $15,000 diamond halo engagement ring at the Jewel Case in the South Freehold Shopping center, according to an arrest warrant. Harmon’s cash bail was set at $20,000. Harmon was also charged with a number of offenses from other towns, according to jail records. Tinton Falls added a drug possession charge, as well as possession of paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle. Old Bridge added a receiving stolen property charge and Deal added a $93 driving offense to the mix, according to jail records. Previous charges were from outstanding …

Woman also charged with endangering welfare of child
A Long Branch woman has been charged with sexually assaulting an Oceanport child. Rachel Morrison, 26, of Warburton Place, allegedly sexually assaulted the minor, whose name, age and relationship to Morrison are not being released, on April 29. Morrison was arrested on April 30 is facing two charges of sexual assault for commiting "an act of sexual penetration" and "touching" the victim, according to court documents. Morrison is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was lodged in Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. Morrison's initial court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8.

Christopher Johnson, 38, is charged with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, stemming from an incident in February, 2012. Ocean Township man also facing charges
The Oceanport and Ocean Township Police Departments have arrested two people and charged them with multiple parcel thefts in several towns. The joint 2-week investigation led to the arrests of a 27-year-old Oceanport female, and a 25-year-old Ocean Township male, the Oceanport Police stated on their Facebook page. "The Ocean Township Police Department, and the Oceanport Police had taken numerous reports of thefts from outside of homes," police state. "The accused were commiting thefts by taking recently delivered UPS, and FEDEX packages from front porches and then selling the stolen items to local stores for cash." Oceanport Police Det. Woman was killed in Monday morning fire
The woman killed in an apartment fire in Long Branch early Monday morning has been identified. Ann D. Lavelle, 79, of 11 Howland Ave., was a resident of the downstairs apartment of the building, and was found dead inside the building. Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charlie Webster said her cause of death has not yet been released, because autopsy results are still pending. Webster said the investigative team "conducted a thorough examination of the structure (at 11 Howland Ave.) and identified the area of origin as the rear bedroom." Incident occurred on Willow Avenue on Jan. 3
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Long Branch police are investigating a possible homicide that occurred on Willow Avenue last week. County Director of Investigations Marc Limieux said police received a 911 call at 4:20 p.m. Jan. 3 for a report of an unresponsive male in the basement apartment of 326 Willow Ave. Lemieux said the address is one large home with multiple apartments. The victim was later identified as Manuel Vilaseca Cortez, a 39-year-old male from Long Branch. Limieux said Cortez did not live at 326 Willow Ave. He said the case is being "investigated as a homicide," but that no cause of death is available at this time and no suspects have identified.
