Little Silver Police Blotter: DWIs and Fraud Last Month

Blotter information for December was provided by the Little Silver Police Department.

December 1- Michael Gavan, 27, of Shrewsbury, NJ, was arrested following a field interview on Branch Ave. for an active Contempt of Court warrant out of the Red Bank Municipal Court. P.O. Eric Van Schaack made the arrest. December 1- Maria Torres, 31, of Long Branch, NJ, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Silverside Ave. for Driving While Intoxicated. P.O. Eric Van Schaack made the arrest. December 1- A resident from Rumson Rd. reported a Burglary/Theft after discovering that an unknown subject(s) entered an unsecured, detached garage and removed a gas powered backpack blower. Sgt. LS Police Blotter: Reports of Burglary, Identity Theft and DWI

The following is a list of incidents in the borough reported for the month of October provided by the Little Silver Police Department.

October 1- A resident from Woodbine Ave. reported Identity Theft when she received a phone call from an unknown female. The female asked the victim if she needed any home improvements done. When the victim replied no, the unknown female told the victim that she has the victim’s birth date and social security number and dictated it back to her. P.O. Peter Gibson investigated. October 2- A student at Red Bank Regional High School reported a Theft when his wallet and watch were stolen from his back pack sometime during the day. P.O. Robert Chenoweth investigated. October 4- Andrew Eastwood, 23, of Rumson, NJ, was arrested for a Contempt of Court warrant out of the Deal Municipal Court. P.O. Amanda Arnold made the arrest. October 4- Nima …

Alleged Alcohol Theft at Mad Hatter

The Sea Bright bar has been shuttered since Sandy

A Somerville man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a substantial amount of alcohol from The Madd Hatter, a Sea Bright pub and pizzeria that has been shuttered since Hurricane Sandy. Seven M. Marchesani Jr., 30, of 84 3rd St., Somerville, was arrested in Sea Bright on Nov. 27 and charged with theft, according to the complaint warrant signed by Detective J. Arias. Marchesani allegedly committed the theft, according to the document, by taking bottles of alcohol valued at approximately $850 out of the establishment, which has been closed, along with all other businesses in Sea Bright, since Sandy. The complaint also said that there was a witness statement to corroborate the charge. Marchesani is scheduled for an initial appearance in …

Storm Damage, Mail Scam Mark Busy Day for Oceanport Police

Officers responded to reports of fraud, theft and damage from a heavy storm on Sept. 18.

Oceanport Police officers were busy last Tuesday responding to numerous complaints around town. Speeding Enforcement Initiative: The Oceanport Police Department, in an attempt to greatly reduce the overall speeds at which motorists travel at through the borough, have begun a speeding enforcement initiative throughout the borough, targeting numerous streets. The initiative will be an ongoing effort to ensure the safety of the motoring and pedestrian traffic within the borough. Speeding Enforcement Stats for the week of Sept. 17 – Sept. 23: 49 Radar Enforcement Details (Number of times officer setup to run radar.) 30 Vehicles Stopped for Speeding These stats do not include routine traffic stops and the summons generated during those stops.

Oceanport PD: Drunken Driving, Warrant Arrests, Speeding Enforcement Update

Police report end-of-summer incidents in the borough and results of speeding enforcement initiative week of Aug. 27-Sept. 3.

Oceanport Police made a number of warrant arrests and reported two incidents of drunken driving in the last days of summer. Aug. 28 Aug. 29 Aug. 31 Sept. 1 Speeding Enforcement Initiative: Speeding Enforcement Stats for the week of August 27-September 3: These stats do not include routine traffic stops and the summons generated during those stops.

Arrest records released by the Little Silver Police Department on Aug. 16: July 3- Robert Meyer, 26, of Red Bank was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on a Contempt of Court warrant out of the Tinton Falls Municipal Court. July 4- Meryll Newman, 19, of Little Silver was arrested following a suspicious vehicle complaint on Lippincott Road on charges of Possession of Marijuana Under 50 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Oceanport Police Department provides a blotter of recent police activities on a monthly basis, which is posted on the Oceanport Boro website.
