Poll: Romney Picks Paul Ryan as Running Mate—Your Thoughts?

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan will run for vice president on the GOP ticket. Is he the right choice?

The team of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will take on Barack Obama and Joe Biden in November. Romney and Ryan, a Wisconson Republican congressman, teamed up in Norfolk, VA, this morning to make the official announcement, although details leaked out hours before. Ryan is considered a rising star in the GOP and is best known for his proposed budget that calls for an overhaul of Medicare. Some analysists call Ryan a "bold choice" because the congressman's selection is considered a controversial move and a departure from the "safe" reputation Romney has. Ryan has a long voting history on issues that Democrats want to run on — health care and Social Security, especially. Ryan also has never run for a statewide ticket, according to ABC News. …

Mitt Romney Rolls Through Rumson

The Republican presidential candidate makes a stop at a West River Road GOP fundraiser

It was nothing new to the sleepy peninsula suburb of Rumson when 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney paid a visit to a private West River Road estate for a political fundraiser early Wednesday evening. "We've done it before," longtime Republican Rumson Mayor John Ekdahl said. "We had Dick Cheney here a few years back." Ekdahl, who was not planning to attend the event, said he was not at liberty to disclose the exact address, but he did say that there would be extra police patrols on duty on and around the property for the evening.
