Ronald McDonald House Offers New Way To Connect Families

Charity launching Skype program.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch is offering a new way for families staying at the house to connect with their loved ones.

A new Skype program will be held by the Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch, New Brunswick and Long Island. Families staying at the homes will receive a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, a mobile tablet that will allow them to use the Skype program.

"Each Ronald McDonald House around the world provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals, with the mission of keeping them together during extremely difficult circumstances," a release from the Ronald McDonald House states. "For those friends and relatives back home who are unable to remain with their loved ones, the Skype program will enable them to keep in touch regularly by utilizing mobile technology."
