Veterans and Their Families Can Now Have Free Access Seven Presidents

Veterans, active military personel and their immediate families can now access Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch for free, accoridng to the Asbury Park Press.

Daily beach badges used to cost $7 per day and $25-$65 for season passes, but members of Disabled American Veterans’ Chapter 29 in Tinton Falls were able to lobby county officials make them free.

Michael Palutis, a spokesman for the veterans’ group, told the Asbury Park Press that a number of county legislators sponsored a law that was enacted in 2011 to allow discounted or free beach access to military personnel, veterans and their families, but that the county still did not offer any discounts to its own beach.
