Lady Bucs Tame Blue Devils 9-8

Freshman Jess Stevenson hits two-run shot to tie, Morgan Schroll knocks home Langley for the game-winner

Jess Stevenson and Morgan Schroll provided starting pitcher Alexis Hines with a 9-8 Lady Buccaneer victory in a fiercely-contested game against Shore Regional played at Red Bank Regional Tuesday afternoon.

At the top of the 5th inning, the score was tied 6-6.  In the 6th, Shore scored to go up 7-6. With the bases loaded, Shore pitcher Emily Roberts struck out the last Lady Bucs batter to retire the side. 

However, the Lady Bucs decided to make things interesting in the 7th when Stevenson mashed a 2-run homer to tie the game. Later in the inning, Schroll picked up a game-winning RBI when she connected with the ball hard to bring home Trish Langley for the winning run.
