You guessed it – it’s the 20 lanes at the post bowling alley, according to Real Estate Director David Nuse of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA).

Apparently Wii bowling hasn’t filled the void left when Memory Lanes in Shrewsbury burned down in 2009. Since then it has been a bowling desert in the Two River area.

Though interest from potential buyers has been high, this property won’t even transfer from the Army to private hands for more than a year. That’s because it’s in phase II of the redevelopment plan. The Army and FMERA are still hammering out an agreement for properties in that phase. Once it’s sold the aging property will be sorely in need of an upgrade.
