Warriors Lose Run for the Roses to St. Leo's
Markham Place Warriors close out the basketball season with a 23 wins and 1 loss.
The basketball season finally ended for four middle school teams on Saturday, March 19 at St. Rose High School in Belmar where the final two games in the Run for the Roses tournament took place.
At 1 p.m. the girls from St. Catherine's played against the girls from Fair Haven, and the girls team from Fair Haven prevailed.
At 2:30 p.m. the final match up for boys was St. Leo's, who was seeded first, playing against the Warriors from Markham Place School. At the final buzzer the score was St. Leo's 46 and Markham Place 32.

Two players from the Markham Place team were named to the "Tournament Team", Justin Gilson, an eighth grader and John Salecedo, a seventh grader.
The Warriors from Markham Place, coached by Don Nolan, finished their season 23 and 1.
