Shore Regional Adjusts Calendar Following Sandy

Graduation remains slated for June 28

Shore Regional officials have had to tweak the calendar for the rest of the year to account for lost school days following Hurricane Sandy.

Among the changes, the high school will now be open on Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 21, and Presidents' Day, Feb. 18.

The last day of school remains set for June 27 and graduation will be held June 28 as originally scheduled.

Two snow days are built into the calendar, as the state mandates 180 instructional school days. Right now Shore Regional is scheduled for 182 instructional days.

If no snow days are needed, school will be closed on Friday, May 24. If three snow day are used, June 28 becomes a school day, and on the fourth snow day, March 29 becomes a school day. March 29 is Good Friday and June 28 is a staff day.
