RFH Parent Arrested Following RBR Baseball Game Melee

Benches cleared in the sixth inning at a game Saturday morning when an RBR runner collided with the RFH catcher.

A sixth-inning collision — during a tie game when a Red Bank Regional player running from third base collided with the Rumson-Fair Haven catcher — cleared both benches and ended up with all brawling players possibly suspended from upcoming games and the arrest of a Rumson parent for alleged simple assault, according to APP.com.

Patrick Maisto, 49, an RFH parent, is accused of coming on the field and assaulting a Buc player, according to the report.

The game was immediately terminated and both teams could be found ineligible to compete in the upcoming NJSIAA Tournament.
