RBR Classes Battle for Bragging Rights [VIDEO]

second annual Battle of the Classes ended Thursday night with a broken tug-of-war rope, the Freshmen looking “Fresh to Death” in their green t-shirts as they lip-synced to High School Musical, the Sophomores winning the uniform contest, the Juniors -- and the Seniors -- “going bananas” as we celebrated our victory in our yellow t-shirts, storming the center of the court after the announcement of the scores.
Last May, RBR’s Student Council sponsored the school’s first Battle of the Classes. This year, each team consisted of 10 boys and 10 girls coached by their Class Council Advisors. While this year’s Battle of the Classes featured some slight alterations, including a faculty team that competed in a few events (six Seniors beat the faculty team in tug-of-war after taking down the Juniors in the final for double the amount of points), a Temple Run competition, an obstacle course relay, and a three-point shootout, the goal remained the same for the Seniors – beat the Juniors, leaving the Freshmen and Sophomores to battle over the carnage.
Highlights from the night included everybody singing along as the Freshmen danced to “We’re All in this Together;” Senior Jared Katzman and Juniors Will Noglows and Nolan Mendoza booty-popping in their respective dances; the Freshmen forgoing the traditional rules of tug-of-war, letting go of the rope at the sound of the whistle, sending the Sophomores flying backwards to land on their butts, and Senior Tyler Karalewich singing a solo to Adele’s “Someone Like You.”

The night ended with the Sophomores coming in fourth with 29 points, the Freshmen putting up 54 points, the Juniors coming in a close second with 70 points, while the Seniors won with 78 points.
