Oceanport BOE Approves $9.9 Million Preliminary Budget

The board will hold a public hearing on the 2013-14 budget on March 28.

Don't look for a lot of fluctuations in the Oceanport School District budget for next year.

The board of education approved a $9.9 million preliminary budget at its Feb. 28 meeting that is a slight increase over the current year. The portion of the budget to be raised by taxes is $9.14 million.

The budget needs to be approved by the county superintendent before it can be voted on by board members. The board will hold a public hearing on March 28 to discuss the budget, which no longer needs to be put out for a vote by taxpayers provided it stays below a 2-percent increase.
