More State Aid Keeps School Taxes Flat in Oceanport

The board of education approved the $9.88 million budget at its March 22 meeting.

The $49,000 increase in state aid that the School District received for next year helped keep taxes flat, despite slight increases in almost every area of the recently-approved budget.

The district's unanimously approved the $9.88 million budget, which will raise $8.85 million through the tax levy, at its March 22 meeting.

While the tax bill will stay flat for Oceanport residents, despite the .3 percent increase in the levy, Sea Bright taxpayers will see an 11 percent decrease.
