Markham Place 7th Graders Travel Back to the Civil War

Markham Place 7th graders were visited by the 7th New Jersey Regiment whose members re-enact the civil war and pass on their knowledge to the public.

The annual Civil War Day has been a tradition at Markham Place School for over 15 years.  The 7th grade was visited by re-enactors from the 7th NJ regiment of the 2nd NJ Brigade.  These men are re-enactors who share their love and expertise of Civil War history with students of all ages.   The event is normally held outside on the schools fields; however Wednesday’s weather restricted the event to the classrooms.  The regiment sets up various stations that the students visit and learn about life during the Civil War.
