The superintendent said the district advertised for the position twice after the first round of resumes failed to produce qualified candidates. The interview committee was a combination of teachers, child study team members, administrators, board members and parents, said Kossack.

Riley will replace Michael Maschi, who left the district after three years to become the director of special services for Lacey Township, said Kossack.
