Free Screening of "Race to Nowhere" Thursday Night at RFH

Community invited to the RFH auditorium to watch a film about the struggles and stresses of students tonight at 7 p.m. RBR Superintendent Stefankiewicz to take part in panel discussion following film.

Think about your child's typical day. It could involve seven hours of school, after school sports and clubs, music lessons and hours of homework.

The Rumson Elementary PTO is sponsoring a screening of the film "Race to Nowhere" on Thursday, November 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the (RFH) Auditorium. This documentary features individual student stories highlighting the psychological and physical costs related to readiness, success, and pressures associated with school.

This film has been known to about this societal issue and Fico says the film is "worthwile viewing".

The community is invited to the viewing with a panel discussion following the screening moderated by Dr. Peter Righi, Superintendent of RFH, Jim Stefankiewicz, Superintendent of and Dr. Franca Mancini, Director of Psychological Counseling at .

Dr. Righi said he hopes the takeaway for the viewers is “to remain mindful of the pressures our students already feel” before the educational demands are levied on our children and students.
