Monmouth Medical Center Holds Free Event: Maintaining Brain Health as We Age

Monmouth Medical Center is holding a free health event titled Monmouth Peace of Mind:  Maintaining Brain Health As We Age” on Thursday, September 13 beginning at 4 p.m. at Branches located at 123 Monmouth Road in West Long Branch.

Monmouth Medical Center experts will discuss common brain disorders and offer an overview of the latest advances in diagnosis, treatment and therapies of disorders of the brain, spine and nervous system. Topics and speakers include: “Facial Pain,” by neurologist Joshua Mendelson, M.D., medical director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Program, and neurosurgeon Ty Olson, M.D., medical co-director of The Gamma Knife Center; and “Mini Stroke and Stroke Prevention,” by neurologist Neil Holland, M.D., medical director of the Neuroscience Institute, and cardiologist Delia Dobrescu, M.D. Additionally, Dr. Holland and Dr. Olson will discuss the treatment of tremors, and Don Tow, Ph.D., will provide a Tai Chi demonstration.

This event will feature free health screenings, health information tables, door prizes and giveaways. Doors open at 4 p.m., and light dinner and beverages will be provided at 4:45. Presentations will begin at 5:15.
