Bucs Drop Opener to Central Regional HS, 21 to 12

Under the lights at Count Basie Field in Red Bank, the Red Bank Buccaneers dropped their Varsity football season opener.

Despite an 89 yard touchdown by Thyeem Crawford and a touchdown by Jahimere Hinton #4, and a 38 yard kick-off return by #13, Ross Gisondi, the Bucs lost their opener tonight. The final score 21 to 12.

Under clear blue skies, at 7:15 pm, Erin Murphy, a senior vocal major at Red Bank Regional sang the National Anthem to open the season for the Buccaneers. At half time, the RBR Marching band, led by the birthday girl and Band Director, Kerry McNulty, performed a medley from "Jersey Boys."

The Bucs travel to Matawan, next week against the Huskies at 6 pm and return to their home field at RBR for the "Battle of Ridge Road" against RFH on Sept. 24 at high noon.
