RBR's Chris Dubrow Wins Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama at the Basie Awards
RBR senior and Shrewsbury resident Chris Dubrow brought home the Basie Award for the most Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for his role as Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
senior and Shrewsbury resident Chris Dubrow brought home the Basie Award for the most Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for his role as Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other RBR students nominated for Basies included Alicia Moeller for her portrayal of Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Ari Beller, Little Silver, for his portrayal of Puck in the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
The Basie Awards were held on May 23 at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank. Twenty-four Monmouth County high schools participated in this year’s event. The Basie Awards were established seven years ago to honor excellence in high school theatre productions in Monmouth County. For more information see their
