On Monday, November 18, at 7pm, all parents in the area are invited to Rumson Fair Haven High School to participate in a very important conversation. The epidemic of heroin is back and affecting our young people. Monmouth County Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni will be discussing the dramatic rise of heroin use in the county between young adults age 18-25.
In 2012 alone, it is estimated that 8.9 million (3.4%) of 12 year-olds and older have been using an illicit drug other then marijuana. In one year, the death rate from heroine in New Jersey rose 24%!
You may be telling yourself that this is not a problem that you should be worried about. You may think that heroin is a problem that only exists on the streets of big cities. However, heroin is becoming the drug of choice in many suburban communities due to its availability and low cost.
