Video: Returning Little Silver Councilman Galante Sworn In

Mayor Neff welcomed Donald Galante back with a brief ceremony at borough hall Thursday afternoon.

Mayor Robert C. Neff, Jr. administered the oath of office to returning councilman Donald Galante shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday at a brief ceremony inside the council chambers of the .

Having previously served on council from 2000 to 2008, to fill the vacancy on council created when Neff resigned from council to become mayor.

Galante will serve out the remainder of Neff's council term, which expires at the end of 2012. However, his service may not end there. Following the ceremony, he expressed to Patch that he enjoys serving on council and would be interested in making a run next November.

"Oh yeah, absolutely," said Galante. "I'm here. I'm in town. I've basically lived here for 25 years and brought my kids up in town. My son's a senior up in Skidmore. My daughter works in Manhattan, and my oldest son actually is getting married to somebody who works at in June, so he's probably going to live in the area as well.

"So I'm going to live here for the rest of my time, and I have an opportunity to give back, and I have time to give back, so why not do that?"
