VIDEO: Little Silver Council Reorganizes

Dane Mihlon joins council, Dan O'Hern returns, David Gilmour to serve as council president.

Little Silver held their annual reorganization meeting at Thursday night, swearing in their newly-elected mayor and members of council.

Republican Mayor Robert C. Neff, Jr. was given the oath of office by Borough Attorney John O. Bennett, III. Neff has served as the Borough's interim mayor since September, following , and was a councilman prior to that, beginning in 2007.

. He will serve a four-year term as mayor.

Council welcomed back and introduced to the dais. and will serve three-year terms as councilmen.

O'Hern was sworn in by former state Supreme Court Chief Justice James Zazzali. Neff administered the oath to Mihlon.

Republican David Gilmour, the longest-serving councilman, was chosen by members of council to serve as council president.

Neff Appoints Council Committees and Liasons for 2012

Councilman Stuart Van Winkle will chair the Finance and Budget and Insurance Committee with Mihlon and Councilman Donald Galante. He will also serve as liason to the Business and Professional Association and Waterfront Committee.

Council President Gilmour will chair the Police and Emergency Preparedness Committee with Van Winkle and Councilman Jonathan Bitman. He will also serve as liason to the Board of Health, Library Trustees and Local Emergency Planning Council.

Councilman Bitman will chair the Public Works Committee with Van Winkle and O'Hern. He will also serve as liason to the Planning Board, Americans with Disabilities Act Committee, Parker Homestead Committee, Recycling, Little Silver Cross Acceptance and Capital Fund Projects.

Councilman Mihlon will chair the Buildings, Grounds, Equipment and Street Lights Committee with Gilmour and Galante. He will also serve as liason to the Traffic and Safety Committee and Drug Alliance.

Councilman O'Hern will chair the Fire, First Aid and Newsletter Committee with Bitman and Mihlon. He will also serve as liason to Recreation and Property Maintenance.

Councilman Galante will chair the Personnel Committee with Gilmour and O'Hern. He will also serve as liason to the Environmental Commission, Shade Tree Commission and Open Space.
