RBR Grad Among Congressional Award Winners

Jade Saybolt was recognized by U.S. Rep. Rush Holt at a recent ceremony.

Former Little Silver resident and recent Red Bank Regional graduate Jade Saybolt was one of eight students to be presented with a Congressional Award by U.S. Rep. Rush Holt, D-12, at a recent ceremony held at the Monmouth County Library headquarters in Manalapan.

The Congressional Award is open to to all people between the ages of 14 and 23. According to a release, Saybolt, along with seven other students have all earned bronze, silver and gold Congressional Award medals, which require 200, 400, and 800 hours of activity, respectively.

Each level, according to a release, involves setting goals in four program areas, including volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness, and expedition/exploration.

Saybolt, who lives in Shrewsbury, was a member of the Red Bank Regional field hockey team and also had her art work exhibited at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury.
