Oceanport Will Apply For Grant To Fix Blackberry Bay Park Bulkhead

The park's boat ramp would also be replaced.

The Oceanport Council has decided to apply for a grant that will allow it to repair the damaged bulkhead and boat ramp at Blackberry Bay Park.

The council unanimously voted to apply for a Monmouth County Open Space Grant that is available for repair projects such as these in towns hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.

The project will include the replacement of the concrete boat ramp, the reconfiguration of the bulkhead to address erosion concerns and the removal of the timber bulkhead with a vinyl one.

The project would cost $420,000, but the grant would cover half of the construction costs associated with the project. The borough would have to pay the remaining construction costs and the soft costs.
