Bateman has lived in Little Silver since 2003, after moving from Red Bank with her husband.

“The current board is a great group of people and were very welcoming. I'm grateful for the opportunity to play such an important role in our community.”

Bateman replaces Arthur (Terry) Adamson, whose was effective June 30.

Adamson still had two years left on his term. Bateman will serve through the end of 2012, with a two-year unexpired term on the ballot this November.
