Freeholder Meeting at Monmouth Park Racetrack Thursday

The Board of Chosen Freeholders will be voting on a resolution authorizing the execution of a contract for the design, construction and operation of the Monmouth County Reclamation Center

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold its regular meeting at the Monmouth Park racetrack at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 27.

“I am committed to improving Monmouth County government and holding the regular public meetings of the Board of Chosen Freeholders in the evenings and in locations throughout the county,” Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone said.

Since April, the Board has been holding its second evening meeting of each month in a different Monmouth County municipality. The tour will continue through September.

The June 27 meeting will be held in the Garden Room on the third floor of Monmouth Park at 175 Oceanport Ave. in Oceanport.

“Holding all of the Board’s regular public meetings in the local municipalities encourages participation by residents,” Arnone said.

Thursday’s agenda includes the following resolutions:

  • Authorizing participation with Long Branch in an agreement with the State and the United States Army Corp of Engineers in the construction of a beach erosion and hurricane protection project
  • Requesting the State advance the funds to cover the costs of the special election Aug. 13 primary election and the Oct. 16 special general election to the County and to authorize the county to process the funds as a grant
  • Authorizing the execution of a service contract for the design, construction and operation of the Monmouth County Reclamation Center Leachate Pretreatment Facility for $7,794,880 (design/build) plus $1,457,170 (operation annually x 15 years)
