Oceanport's Blackberry Bay Park pavilion will be replaced this year.

The pavilion was damaged by fire several years ago and its remains will be demolished to make way for the new structure.

The Oceanport Council passed a resolution during its Jan. 16 meeting awarding a contract to Catel Inc. of Bradley Beach to build the new pavilion.

The structure will cost $724,888 and will be financed with the help of a grant, bond resolution and funds from the borough's open space trust fund.

Fiore will be paid $6,495 to demolish the old site as well.
