West Long Branch Bank Robbed Tuesday Afternoon

Police searching for suspect who took undetermined amount of cash

The Hudson Savings Bank in West Long Branch was robbed of an undetermined amount of money on Tuesday afternoon, according to the West Long Branch Police.

West Long Branch Police Capt. Larry Mihlon said the bank, located at the corner of Route 36 and Route 71 in the Shop Rite plaza, was robbed around 2 p.m. and that police are searching for a 5-foot-8 to 6-foot-tall, clean-shaven white male who was wearing a gray ball cap, white buttoned shirt and dark pants.

Capt. Mihlon said no weapon was shown and that no vehicle was reportedly seen.

He said the West Long Branch Police are at the bank investigating the robbery now with assistance from the Oceanport Police Department and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department (K-9). The FBI has also been notified and will aid in the investigation.

It should be at route 36 and route 71, not route 35
