Two Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Oceanport Avenue

Motorcycles crashed near Monmouth Park on Wednesday night

Two men driving Harley Davidson motorcycles were injured when they crashed their bikes on Wednesday night in Oceanport.

Oceanport Police Chief Daniel Barcus said the men were travelling north on Oceanport Avenue and approaching Port-Au-Peck Avenue when the accident occurred.

"The motorcycles crossed into the opposite lane heading into on coming traffic," Barcus said. "No contact was made with other vehicles but the motorcycles crashed near the fence line of Monmouth Park Racetrack's Grandstand Parking area on the west side of Oceanport Avenue."

Barcus said one driver was taken to Monmouth Medical Center and the other to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.

Barcus said he is awaiting word on the extent of the two men's injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, but neither man is facing any charges at this time, Barcus said.
