SPCA Volunteer Hoarded 300 Dead Birds, Reports Say

Dead birds were found in woman's Little Silver and Ocean Township homes.

A Little Silver woman is accused of hoarding hundreds of dead birds, according to an app.com.

Gretchen Rell, 54, who lived in the Mitchell Place with her 95-year-old mother, was a volunteer with the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the report said.

Over 300 dead birds were found in the Little Silver home and more dead animals were discovered in the Ocean Township home she shared with her husband, according to the report.

Rell may face animal cruelty charges, SPCA Chief Victor "Buddy" Amato told app.com.
