Portion of Oceanport Ave. to Remain Closed Through Friday

Police expect roadway to be reopened by early Saturday morning.

Police expect the portion of Oceanport Avenue closed following a downed utility pole on Thursday afternoon to be reopened by midnight Friday.

According to Little Silver Police Captain Gary LaBruno, JCP&L workers have been repairing the pole that was knocked down by a vehicle around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 across from Fort Monmouth's East Gate.

The pole dragged down numerous wires across the roadway, LaBruno added.

Traffic has been detoured around Oceanport Avenue from Tinton Avenue in Little Silver south to Main Street in Oceanport, shutting down one of the main thoroughfares for traveling into and out of Oceanport.

Little Silver Police issued a Two River Alert about the closure on Thursday evening.

I had my car repaired at Collex and they were a fantastic collision company to deal with. They wereRead More understanding, professional and after the work you could not tell the car was ever damaged. I highly recommend them. PR
