Police Say Woman Kicked, Spit On Oceanport Officers

The Keyport resident is also charged with trying to disarm one of the officers.

A Keyport woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly assaulting Oceanport Police officers, according to court documents.

Katrina D. Veney, 23, 244 Orchard St., Keyport, faces two counts of aggravated assault following a Jan. 15 incident in Oceanport in which she allegedly injured two officers who were trying to place her under arrest.

Ptl. Jake Pascucci and Sgt. Raymond Ciani were taken to Monmouth Medical Center and treated for injuries.

Veney allegedly tried to resist arrest for outstanding warrants by refusing to roll down vehicle windows and unlock its doors. She is charged with attempting to disarm an officer after police say she tried to remove Pascucci's firearm "numerous times."

She was also charged with throwing bodily fluid after allegedly spitting in Pascucci's face while he was trying to arrest her, according to the report. Veney also faces charges for kicking and punching both of the arresting officers.

Bail was set at $75,000 with no 10 percent option and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
