Update: No Explosion in Silverside Avenue Home
Midday Tuesday Little Silver police were called to address the explosion of small in-home oxygen tank, which they said turned out not to be the case.
An oxygen tank did not explode in a Silverside Avenue home around noon Tuesday, contrary to prior reports, Little Silver police said this afternoon.
"It was reported as an oxygen tank explosion and was changed to a first aid call," said Little Silver Police Chief Daniel Shaffery.
Paramedics were called to treat the victim for burns on their hands and face related to complications with their small in-home oxygen tank, which remained intact.
