Oceanport Police Chief To Be Sworn In This Month

Chief Barcus will be sworn in at the July 18 Oceanport Council meeting.

Oceanport Police Chief Daniel W. Barcus will be sworn in on Thursday, July 18 at the Oceanport Council meeting at Maple Place School.

The ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Chief Barcus was appointed to the position of chief on May 16 by the Oceanport Council.

Barcus, who was promoted from captain, replaces Harold W. Sutton. Sutton retired on March 1 after serving on the police department for 34 years.

Barcus served as the captain of the police department since 2011.
