Oceanport Police Blotter: Shoplifting at Village Pharmacy and Marijuana Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Oceanport Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

May 22: Oceanport Police responded to a report of shoplifting at the on East Main Street. After further investigation the subject was located down the street from the store. Stephanie L. Smith, 38, of Oceanport was arrested, transported to headquarters and released in a summons pending a court hearing. Ptl. Jake Pascucci led the arrest.

May 26: Michael J. Walker, 23, of Edison, was stopped at 11:05 a.m. at Wyckoff Road in Eatontown for motor vehicle violations. Further investigation led to Walker's arrest for possession of marijuana under 50g, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Subject was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released pending a court hearing in Oceanport Municipal Court. Ptl. Jake Pascucci led the arrest.

May 27: Patrols responded to a report at 6:10 p.m. of damage to a Port-Au-Peck Avenue property. Unknown subject(s) drove over his front yard that had stone landscaping causing property damage. This matter is under investigation led by Ptl. Chrisovalandis Mageros.

May 28: Patrols took a report at 1:29 p.m. from a Werah Place resident of a credit card fraud. Unknown actors accessed the victim’s credit card information for use on-line to purchase items. The matter is under investigation led by Sgt. Michael Kelly.

Speeding Enforcement Initiative:
The Oceanport Police Department, in an attempt to greatly reduce the overall speeds at which motorists travel through the borough, have begun a speeding enforcement initiative throughout the borough, targeting numerous streets. The initiative will be an ongoing effort to ensure the safety of the motoring and pedestrian traffic within the borough.

These stats do not include routine traffic stops and the summons generated during those stops.
