Police: Woman Kicked, Spit At 2 Oceanport Officers

The Red Bank woman also allegedly tried to disarm one of the officers.

By Christopher Sheldon

A Red Bank woman has been indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury for allegedly assaulting two Oceanport Police officers earlier this year.

Katrina D. Veney, 24, of Red Bank was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after police say she kicked Patrolman Jake Pascucci and Sgt. Raymond Ciani as they attempted to arrest her on Jan. 13.

Pascucci and Ciani were taken to Monmouth Medical Center and treated for injuries at the time of the incident.

Veney allegedly tried to resist arrest for outstanding warrants by refusing to roll down her car windows or unlock its doors. She was also indicted on a charge of attempting to disarm an officer after police say she tried to remove Pascucci's firearm multiple times.

She was also charged with throwing bodily fluid after allegedly spitting in Pascucci's face while he was trying to arrest her, according to the indictment.
