Red Bank Motorist Charged With Cocaine Possession in Little Silver

Police discovered the powdery white substance following a traffic stop on Seven Bridges Road.

A traffic stop for speeding led to an arrest for drug possession in Little Silver.

John J. Calderone, 53, 124 River St., Red Bank, was stopped on Nov. 20 at 8:48 p.m. on Seven Bridges Road by Ptl. Amanda Arnold, who discovered he had an outstanding warrant out of the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department.

During the arrest, Arnold found "a bag containing a white powder substance believed to be cocaine" in Calderone's possession, according to court documents.

Calderone was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and held on $5,000 bail and transferred to the sheriff's department.

He is scheduled to appear in Little Silver Municipal Court on Dec. 20.
