Asbury Man with Stun Gun Arrested in Little Silver

Man had active warrants in Wall and Neptune.

Early Tuesday morning, chased down an Asbury Park man with active warrants out for his arrest who was found walking around town with a stun gun.

Tyreek Simmons, 25, of Asbury Park, was arrested by Officer Robert Chenoweth at 1:56 a.m. following a brief foot pursuit, discarding the stun gun during the chase.

Simmons had warrants totaling $846 stemming from incidents in Wall and Neptune. He was wanted for a traffic violation in Wall and on marijuana charges in Neptune, according to a report by the Asbury Park Press.

He was additionally charged by Little Silver Police with possessing a stun gun and obstructing the administration of law.

Unable to post a $1500 plus 10 percent bail, Simmons was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute. He will appear before a county court on Jan. 19.
