CONGRESSMAN SMITHS GOVT SHUTDOWN WAS BAD FOR VETERANS, NJ AND AMERICA

In the past, Smith did good things for Veterans.  The government shutdown that he voted for was not good for Veterans, NJ or the country.  He held the government hostage using health care reform as the reason.  He also used the shutdown to forward his HR7 bill and his obsession with Roe v Wade.  That was irresponsible and self serving.  He is entitled to his religious ideology but he represents many people of many opinions and religions.  We are a democracy not a theocracy.    Smith's religious crusade has gotten in the way of his governing. The below links are articles that express how the shutdown was bad for Veterans and our society.  The shutdown hurt many individuals and accomplished nothing.  It was bad leadership.   http://www.wjla.com/articles/2013/10/government-shutdown-2013-veterans-won-t-get-disability-money-95113.htmlhttp://www.defense.gov/news/newsarticle.aspx?id=120923
