The Oceanport Soccer Association will be offering a Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. course on Aug. 13 at the Old Wharf Meeting Place (315 East Main Street). The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., so that course materials can be distributed, and the class will run from 7 p.m. sharp until about 10 p.m. You cannot coach youth rec sports in Oceanport without having completed this course. If you are an Oceanport resident and will be coaching in the Oceanport rec sports programs, Oceanport Soccer will absorb the cost of the class. Outside attendees must pay $30. As of Aug. 1, 13 inidiviuals had signed up for the class. Maximum class size is 25.
